Our large library of marine microorganisms has been developed along more than 20 years of research and more than 170 bioprospections around the world.
The genetic diversity of our microorganisms and our experience in fermentation lead to the production of highly rich extracts and therefore, a diverse library of pure compounds with a 24% of novel substances.

Three different collections resulting from more than 170 underwater bioprospecting expeditions
The Innovative SME Seal was created by Order ECC/1087/2015, of 5 June, which regulates the awarding of the Innovative Small and Medium-sized Enterprise seal and creates and regulates the Register of Innovative Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (BOE of 11 June 2015).
This recognition is awarded to companies that are highly innovative so that these SMEs can benefit from and combine tax incentives that would otherwise be incompatible without this seal.
The aim is to develop an environment conducive to R&D in SMEs so that innovation is systematically incorporated into the production model of our companies.

Biomar counts with 750 m2 fully dedicated to the development of GMP fermentation, with process capacity up to 3000 L. Our scientists’ extensive experience in developing bacterial, fungal and actinomycete fermentations, together with our brand new facilities, guarantee a comprehensive CDMO service. Our plant has all the necessary equipment for process development and optimisation, both upstream and downstream.
